People have been eagerly waiting to see what the B-21 will look like. And now, they finally can.
On Friday, Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James released the first rendering of the long range strike bomber, which airmen will be able to help name.
“This aircraft represents the future for our Airmen, and (their) voice is important to this process,” James said.
And whichever airman selects the name that is eventually chosen for the bomber will announce it alongside James at the Air Force Association conference later this year. According to James, the B-21 will give the Air Force more flexibility and a greater ability to operate in a high-threat environment. It will allow airmen to deliver airstrikes at any location in the world.
