Normally, eight-year-old boys aren’t eligible to become Army Rangers. Normally, people with cystic fibrosis don’t become Army Rangers. Thanks to the Make a Wish Foundation, for Eleck Stone, they made an exception.

IJ Review reports Eleck got to go to Fort Benning in Georgia, where he and his brother put on the camo fatigues and joined the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Why the Army Rangers and not, say, meeting a sports hero or Mickey Mouse?

“Eleck’s grandfather was in the military and served in Vietnam,” mother Kimberly said. “At one point, Eleck shared a special moment with him and learned something about the Army Rangers. It inspired him.”
