Private Bledsoe had been deployed to South Korea for a year, and when it was time for him to come home, he decided he wanted to do something special for his mom.
So he wrote to the Detroit Pistons, telling them of the sacrifice his mother had made for him, and how he wanted to give her a special night.
The Pistons, in turn, pulled out all the stops. Not only did his mother get to sit courtside at her very first NBA game, she also got to meet legendary R&B singer Gloria Gaynor, who was also in on the surprise. But all of that paled in comparison to when she saw her son walking towards her with a bouquet of roses.
