The woman accused of beating and trying to rob an elderly veteran in Fresno, Calif. last week is behind bars. Police received two tips leading them to 27-year-old Shavonna Alexander. They say she’s the woman who attacked 73-year-old Victor Bejarano in the parking lot of an AutoZone. Alexander reportedly wanted the veteran to hand over his wallet, but she didn’t count on him to resist. The two struggled from the parking lot, into the store, and back outside before she ran off.
Police say Alexander has a prior burglary arrest. She was arrested Friday and charged with attempted robbery and elder abuse for this attack.
