No one can deny that Army veteran Daniel Branham is a hero. While serving a 15-month deployment to Iraq, he was injured in an IED blast.
Despite being injured, he drove his vehicle to rescue nine soldiers from a gas attack. He suffered a TBI, respiratory problems, and has battled PTSD. After leaving the service, he moved to North Carolina, and he hopes to one day become a boat captain in Charleston, South Carolina, where he grew up.
Branham joined country music star Darius Rucker on the “Today” Show, thinking that he was going to receive tickets to one of the shows on Rucker’s upcoming Southern Style tour. He was also joined by General Leroy Sisco from the Military Warriors Support Foundation. Little did Branham know that Rucker and Sisco, along with Dr. Pepper, Walmart, and Wells Fargo, have pledged to give away 11 mortgage-free homes during Rucker’s concert tour — and Branham was the first lucky recipient.
You won’t want to miss the video of the surprise that Branham never saw coming.
