Scotty McCreery, country singer and winner of American Idol Season 10, just announced that he’s expecting a baby. The 28-yr-old North Carolina native and his wife, Gabi Dugal, are expecting a boy later this year.

The couple told People exclusively that Gabi’s subtle attempt to reveal the pregnancy went right over Scotty’s head.
Gabi went to pick him up from the airport before heading to a hockey game. She thought that her choice not to drink that night would be enough of an unsaid message to Scotty about the pregnancy. But he had no idea.
“I’m over there drinking beers, having a good time, and she’s like, ‘I think I’ll just lay low tonight,’ so I was like, ‘Okay,’ ” Scotty told People. “I didn’t think anything of it.”
Scotty McCreery married Gabi in June of 2018 and the two have talked about kids for some time. But they wanted to travel and experience the world for a few years before settling down. Now, they say, the timing feels right.
“We’ve gotten to live a lot of life and do some cool things, so seems like now’s a good time to settle down a little and expand the family,” says Scotty.
Both Scotty and Gabi come from families of sisters, with Scotty being the lone boy on his side. So, they were shocked to find out that Gabi was expecting a son. But Scotty is excited to share his love of sports with his son.
Scotty also told People that he wants Gabi and their son to tour with him in the future.
“I don’t want to miss anything with him growing up,” he says.
Scotty and Gabi posted three adorable baby reveal photos alongside their dog via Instagram yesterday.
“Baby boy McCreery coming soon!” the caption reads.
