It’s easy to forget how short life is. How our life on earth is just the beginning of our eternal journey and how we should all take advantage of every single moment we have here with our loved ones.

And in 2009, Carrie Underwood reminded us all of that simple fact with a song and accompanying video that pretty much did us in. The song, “Temporary Home,” was the second single from her third studio album “Play On” and would eventually reach the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Yet, it was the video that sticks out for so many. In the video, the song plays out through a few different stories, from a child meeting his foster family to a single mom trying to find her way. But it was Carrie’s portrayal of a granddaughter saying goodbye to her grandfather in the hospital that brought many country fans to tears.

We all ain’t here for long.
