As the vocal group kicked off their year-long residency at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, they brought out their pal Chris Stapleton for an inspired take on his signature song, “Tennessee Whiskey.” LBT kicked the chorus off a cappella just before Chris walked onto the stage and started singing the song. Little Big Town’s background vocals only elevated Chris’ performance. What a treat for those fans in the audience who scored tickets.

Little Big Town also welcomed Sam Hunt to the stage to sing his latest hit, “Body Like a Back Road,” during the show. The set was rounded out with a run through LBT’s catalog of hits, including “Girl Crush,” “Pontoon” and “Boondocks.”

The group kicked off the night with a full performance of their brand-new album, “The Breaker,” which just came out. The lead single from that project, “Better Man,” was written by Taylor Swift. There is talk Taylor may show up to sing the song with Little Big Town during one of their upcoming shows at the Ryman. Of course, that’s all being kept under wraps if it is happening.
