It’s never easy to lose someone you love. Even if you think you’re prepared for it, you aren’t. In the case of the families of Alzheimer’s patients, you also have to prepare for each stage of the debilitating ailment as it slowly takes your loved one.
Mickey Guyton appears to be preparing for a change. On Jan. 11, the pretty, young ingenue shared a post on Twitter asking for prayers for her grandmother. “She’s not doing well. Pray for comfort as she makes a new transition,” she writes.
Y'all please say a prayer for my grandma. She's not doing well. Pray for comfort as she makes a new transition 😇😢

We were first introduced to Mickey’s precious grandmother in 2015 when she posted a photo of her and the family matriarch on Twitter. To mark Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, the singer-songwriter shared that her grandmother was a victim of the neurodegenerative disease and that although she didn’t always recognize her beautiful granddaughter, Mickey knew that she was loved.
It's Alzheimer's Awareness Month. My grandma doesn't know who I am most of the time but I know she loves me. 😘❤️ pic.twitter.com/1re7loZpDw

The news comes on the heels of the Texas native announcing her engagement in an Instagram post in November. “I’m not one to really talk about my relationship because I can be pretty private when it comes to matters of my heart. But here we are and this too me completely by surprise,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “It’s not about finding the perfect person. It’s about finding who you can go thru heaven and hell with.”
Our thoughts are with Mickey and her family during this precious time.
