As the Backstreet Boys took the stage at the 52nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on April 2 to perform alongside Florida Georgia Line, country music’s elite gave them a chance. And as we all know, their electric performance won over many of country music’s biggest superstars like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood.

The pop group will go out this summer with FGL on The Smooth Tour, but they raised some eyebrows when they shared a post on their socials about possibly touring with Rascal Flatts.

“BSB x RF 2018 tour anyone?” they wrote on Facebook. “Thanks to the country community for embracing and welcoming us!”

Rascal Flatts’ Joe Don Rooney weighed in on the idea that everyone is still assuming is just a joke. “Flatts Streets back alright,” Joe Don wrote. “Tour 2018…….magic happens.”

Chances are that all the friendly tour banter is just a way for BSB to express their thanks to the country music community for making them feel so comfortable at the annual awards show. Plus, they seem thrilled to be able to meet some of their musical heroes. “Beautiful performance last night from these two,” they wrote about a pic of them alongside Reba McEntire and Ronnie Dunn. “We officially have a new favorite McEntire. Sorry Joey Mcintyre.”
