Country music fans may recall that “The Voice” favorite was bitten by a brown recluse spider back on Feb. 21. “I woke up to a stinging sensation on my face,” she told fans. “I looked and in my right hand was a dead spider. Somehow while I was sleeping, a spider had bit me and I had killed it. It really has been rough.”

A few short days later, Meghan gave fans an update, saying that she “saw the Toxicologist at Vanderbilt yesterday and she said she thinks my wound is going to heal just fine on it’s own. She doesn’t think I will need surgery, which is a huge relief!”

And on Feb. 27, she shared another picture on her social media channels showing that the bite still has yet to fully heal. She also shared an update on her recuperation.

“Sooo ready for my face to heal,” she wrote. “I’m seeing a Wound Care specialist in South Carolina [tomorrow.] Praying for some answers to speed up the healing process. Thank you all again for the outpouring of love and support!”

Of course, Meghan has long been a fighter both professionally and personally, and we’re sure sure she will wear her wound proudly, as she is scheduled to play shows on March 10 and 11. We continue to send her a bunch of get-well wishes!
