Thomas Rhett’s fellow tourmates pulled off one heck of a prank when they joined him onstage during a recent stop on his 2017 Home Team Tour.

It all happened on March 25 at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma. Thomas was closing out the show with his finale cover song of Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic.”

Though the “Star of the Show” hit-maker was used to having his pals come out for the song at previous concerts, this time was different. He was caught off guard, as tour openers Kelsea Ballerini, Ryan Hurd and Russell Dickerson, along with a bunch of others, walked out onstage in matching veggie costumes.

In this video, Thomas launches into the tune before his friends make their secret, carrot costume debut. Once they come into Thomas’ view, he lets out a surprise laugh. He, then, continues to perform the smash without any hiccups.

As for the carrots, they groove to the beat and even flaunt their perfect harmonies on the tune!

Thomas was so delighted by the hilarious prank that he took to Instagram after the show. Along with a photo featuring himself and his show openers in carrot suits, he captioned, “The best tour prank ever thanks to all the 24 magic carrots for rushing the stage tonight. #hometeamtour2017 @kelseaballerini @ryanhurd @russelled @telemitry”

We have to give these country stars props for their clever idea of spinning “24-Karat magic” into 24 “magic carrots!” And, hey! Who knew carrots could put on such a good show!
