Kayla Knapp, 17, reportedly got into an argument with her stepfather Thursday night and grabbed two kitchen knives to attack him with. According to witnesses, she charged towards the man, who has not been identified, attempting to cut him with the knives. However, her stepfather picked up his Star Wars-inspired toy and used it to bat her away. Witnesses say he had to hit her with the lightsaber several times to subdue her.

It’s unclear if Knapp was successful in harming her stepfather, but police were called to the apartment the night of the incident. After assessing the situation, Knapp was arrested and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. The Force must have been with the stepfather, as no other charges were filed.
