Greg and Sarah Moyers took their two young daughters, Hailey (13) and Sophia (8), on a family vacation to Orlando.

The Missouri family visited Disney World, Universal Studios, and planned to stop by the beach before returning home.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, 43-year-old Charles King of New London, N.C., drifted into the family’s lane on I-4 near DeLand, Fla. The Moyers’ car reportedly “[veered] off the road and hit a tree about 12:30 PM.” Greg and Sarah, the parents of five children total (including children from Sarah’s sister), passed away at the scene.

KSDK reports that the girls survived the incident and were taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando after emergency crews spent over an hour trying to extract them from the vehicle.

Hailey’s injuries were said to be “critical,” while Sophia’s were listed as “serious.”

“The girls don’t know what happened to [their parents] yet. Everyone is on their way down there and that’s when they’ll tell them,” said close family friend Loni Burnside Eaton. “Their kids were their world. They were very involved and supportive parents and just wanted the best for them.”

King was uninjured. NBC Miami reports that charges have not been filed.
