TV Land has cancelled it’s reruns of “Dukes of Hazzard” and one of the show’s stars is super pissed AP

In the wake of the global backlash against the Confederate flag, TV Land has pulled reruns of the popular program the “Dukes of Hazzard” from its schedule.

Following the shooting deaths of nine African-American churchgoers in Charleston, South Carolina, companies across the country have distanced themselves with the Confederate flag, given some of its ties to racist culture in the United States.  After hearing of TV Land’s cancellation of the program, John Schneider, who starred in the program as Bo Duke, told the Hollywood Reporter how disappointed he was in the TV network.

“I’m kidding of course, but has it really come to this?” Schneider said.

“Come on TV Land, can’t we all just watch TV?”

“‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ was and is no more seated in racism than ‘Breaking Bad’ was a show seated in reality,” he said.

Along with his interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Schneider also aired his grievances on Twitter, even posting a photo of Dylann Roof, the young man who admitted to committing the murders in South Carolina.

“I am grossly offended by flag burning. But… is the Golds Gym logo to be considered a symbol of racism as well now?” Schneider posted alongside a photo of Roof in a Golds Gym shirt.
