Fox News’ Tucker Carlson didn’t hold back on Wednesday when he invited former California House candidate Erin Schrode (D) onto his show.
Schrode is among many Democrats who have begun comparing Donald Trump’s TIME’s Person of the Year nod to Adolf Hitler’s. She took to Twitter earlier in the day to point out the fact that both men have been named Person of the Year by the magazine.
Once on the show, Schrode began by saying that there are a lot of lessons we can learn from the 1930s.
“I think it’s very important that we are critical, that we do not normalize or sanitize the rhetoric or actions of Donald Trump or the ghastly appointees to his new administration,” she went on.
After accusing President-elect Donald Trump of “hate speech” and “name-calling,” Carlson couldn’t take anymore of it.
“You just compared this guy to Hitler, and then with a straight face, you’re going to accuse him of hate speech,” he said. “I can barely hear, the irony alarm is so loud in the background.”
