“Family Feud” host Steve Harvey met with President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower on Friday and came out of the meeting promoting peace and cooperation.

“We’re going to team up and see if we can bring about some positive change in the inner cities, which I felt was my only agenda, and he agreed,” Harvey told reporters after the meeting, specifically mentioning Chicago and Detroit. “He wants to do something. He realizes that he needs some allies in that department, and he seemed really sincere about it.”
Harvey shared that he’s taking President Obama’s advice from his farewell speech to “get out from behind your computers” and to “get out there and talk.”
“I think it’s important that we talk, and that’s the only way we’re going to unify our country. We’ve got to talk,” Harvey said. “You don’t kill [worries about Trump and his cabinet] with one conversation, but you can start it with a conversation. So, you know, a lot about what people say — well now it’s time to see what you do. And he said he wanted to do something…and so, we’re going to see.”
In addition to speaking about the issues Harvey holds dear, he and Trump also shared a few laughs while discussing golf and the people they both know. Harvey said he doesn’t foresee a political career for himself, as he “ain’t going to pass a background check,” but he did joke that he’d love to have the Trump family appear on “Family Feud” in a match against the Obamas or the Clintons.
