On Saturday night, Mason Wartman was honored for his work helping to feed the homeless in Philadelphia.

At Rosa’s Fresh Pizza, Wartman allows patrons the opportunity to pay-it-forward and pre-purchase $1 slices of pizza for those who cannot afford it. To signify a purchased slice of pizza, Wartman sticks a sticky-note up on the walls of his restaurant. On the sticky notes, customers can write inspirational messages or words of encouragement for others.

Wartman was honored to be a part of the event and after accepting the award, he learned that he was in for an even bigger surprise. Rare picked up the tab on a days worth of pizza at Rosa’s and each attendee was encouraged to share a message for someone else on a sticky note.
