Money, food, clothing, diapers: How to help Hurricane Harvey victims

It’s catastrophic, the National Hurricane Center says, and it could get worse. The flooding from Hurricane Harvey is so bad FEMA’s warning it’ll take years for some areas to recover. There are ways you can help right now:

Donate to the Red Cross
The Red Cross has already brought in scores of volunteers. Donate or text HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Donate to the Salvation Army
They’ve set up a disaster relief fund.

Donate for diapers
The Texas Diaper Bank notes that diapers are not provided by disaster relief agencies and is seeking donations as they try to assist displaced families.

Don’t forget the animals!
Animals are also being displaced and shelters are struggling. Donate to the SPCA orr the Humane Society of North Texas.

Donate blood
The AABB, which sets up a task force to get blood to areas ravaged by natural disasters is seeking blood. You can call and find a local blood drive.

Host displaced survivors
AirBnB is waiving fees for those affected by disaster and has a page set-up for those in Texas willing to offer their homes.
