“Candace is adored by generations of fans as one of family entertainment’s most cherished and relatable stars,” Abbott said in a press release on April 19. “She has helped build this genre into the mainstream success it is today. And I look forward to working together at GAC Media as we further establish our brands as leaders in quality family programming. I am truly honored that she has chosen to be a part of and help curate her special brand of family entertainment here at Great American Channels.”

In addition to acting for GAC Media, the 46-year-old Cameron will take a “prominent executive role at the company to oversee and curate programming for the networks as a whole.”

Cameron will develop and produced films and series for GAC Living and GAC family. And her company, Candy Rock Entertainment, will also work with the company to produce the upcoming “original content for channels.”

According to the release, Candy Rock will also, “create year-round seasonal celebration content for the networks. And [it will] play a key role in the company’s annual Great American Christmas franchise.”

  1. Sad to see her go – she was the best. We do not get the GAC network in our area without having to pay a steep price for it, so I will miss seeing her. Hoping that she can convince GAC to offer the channel as a package to it is affordable.

    • I am glad to see her move more into wholesome Christian movies. Hallmark use to have better Christian movies, but there format is changing. I have found even older movies they are inserting some scenes that l find very offensive. I would really like to breakaway completely from Hallmark.

  2. How do I get Great American Country channel?
You can stream Great American Country on:
    Philo.
    Sling TV.
    Fubo TV.
    Hulu + Live TV.
    DirecTV Stream

  3. I am very proud of her for standing for her beliefs. I look forward to seeing her and other good actors on GAC.

    • Me too. I was wondering if she would ever leave Hallmark. There is one other actress that I know of that I expect will leave too due to her Christian lifestyle.

  4. Wonderful deal for her. I am glad she will still be acting. I hate to see the Aurora Teagarden series end. I have enjoyed it. But I am sure she will make some outstanding movies at her new home. A couple of other Hallmark star that I like have moved over to GAC as well!

  5. I am so very proud to see you make a stand. If all Christians would stand for better ethics and morals on tv what a great world we would have. These shows are being brought into our homes. I have been broken hearted over Hallmark joining the ranks. As well as so many shows that I have watched for up to 20 years. NCIS is one. We MUST stay the coarse till Jesus comes back.

  6. I also am proud of her for going on to GAC. I don’t support the lifestyles that Hallmark is pushing. It’s really changed way too much, and not in a good way.

  7. I will only watch Hallmark.I enjoy their
    Year round programming and their
Diversity. I will not watch Gac whose programming will be dictated by Cameron’s
So called Christian beliefs. I do feel bad
That hallmark lost Danica. I will miss
Seeing her. I am angry that Cameron is
Trying to give Hallmark and it’s wonderful
Actors a bad name. I never thought
Cameron was much of an actress on
Hallmark I won’t miss seeing her

    • I agree with you. I loved her on the hallmark channel but I will not watch her on GAC. She showed exactly what she is now, a bigoted Christian.

  8. Interesting to read people’s comments. Supportive Christians giving kind statements and best wishes, but others who use negative opinions, feel “angry” and use sarcasm and terms like “quack” and “pathetic”. It’s pretty simple to discern what belief system in this life leads to gratitude, happiness, hope and supportive community behaviors, isn’t it? Best wishes to all.
