Twelve police officers were hit by sniper fire during a peaceful demonstration. Five officers were killed when shots rang out on a crowd that gathered to march against recent police-involved shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota.

Four of the victims were with the Dallas Police Department and one was a Dallas Area Rapid Transit officer. Two civilians were also injured in the attack.

Shots can be heard from inside the college in video shot by a man named Patrick Cooper, who identifies himself as a campus security worker.

It was in the El Centro College parking garage that police engaged in a standoff with their primary suspect.

The suspect was eventually killed after police detonated an explosive near or on his person.

Authorities have three people in custody, and one suspect is dead. Police have not yet identified any of the suspects. Dallas police report at least one gunman said he was upset about police shootings and told police “the end is coming,” though an official motive has not yet been released.

At the end of the video, police can be seen walking toward the gunfire as they attempt to clear the building.
