Like his father, Baena is also an Olympic lifter and is obsessed with the gym. He also works as a real estate agent and is taking a chance on his acting. Back in November, he announced on Instagram that he was cast in his first movie, “Lava.” “Excited to be filming the movie ‘Lava’ with the @bitflixnfts team!” he wrote.

Speaking with Men’s Health earlier this year, he stated he and Schwarzenegger found common ground thanks to fitness. His dad even gave him a copy of The Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding to help him with all of his training.

Like Father, Like Son

His mother is actually Schwarzenegger’s and Maria Shiver’s former housekeeper, Mildred. The famous actor and Shiver share four children, Katherine, Christina, Patrick, and Christopher.

“My dad is old school, he doesn’t believe in handouts. He believes hard work pays off, and so do I,” he noted. “I love the word honor, and I’m very prideful in the sense that if I use my dad’s contacts or ask him for favors, I wonder what honor is that gonna bring me?”

He actually decided to drop his father’s last name, saying that “there are a few different variables in that.”

“But that’s just not my main priority at the moment, so I’m just focused on building myself up and building my career in acting and real estate and just focusing on that right now,” he continued.

News of Joseph Baena’s addition to the show comes after it was announced that TikTok icon Charli D’Amelio and her mother Heidi will also compete for the mirror ball trophy. No other contestants have been revealed.

Dancing With The Stars is set to debut on September 19.
