Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has always been something of an unorthodox politician, and when he came to the Senate floor on Wednesday morning, he continued his role as the think-outside-the-box Senator. The Senate is debating the repeal of Obamacare, and Vice President-elect Mike Pence has said that the repeal and replacement of Obamacare is one of the first priorities on the GOP agenda.
Sanders came armed with a giant printout Trump tweet from May of 2015, in which the president-elect wrote, “I was the first & only potential GOP candidate to state there will be no cuts to Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid. Huckabee copied me.” The Vermont senator implored Donad Trump to “veto any proposal that cuts Medicare, that cuts Medicaid or that cuts Social Security.” Here’s the tweet in its entirety.
