The House of Representatives were scheduled to vote on the American Health Care Act on Friday afternoon.

Nearly an hour before the scheduled vote, House Speaker Paul Ryan pulled the bill. In a press conference shortly after the decision, Ryan cited flaws in the bill that needed to be addressed.
Immediately after his remarks, the House Democrat leadership appeared on the stage.

“What happened on the floor is a victory for the American people,” she said proudly.
While many Republican congressmen have become the most vocal opposition to the Republican replacement plan, many congressional Democrats also criticized the bill ahead of the vote.
