UPDATE, 3:44 p.m. Wednesday, May 4: Four people have been taken to the hospital, WUSA9 reported. WUSA9’s Scott Broom confirmed the driver of the SUV is an employee of the Silver Diner who’s been on bereavement since April 5, 2016.

People at a Silver Diner in Tysons Corner, Va., were greeted by an unpleasant surprise when a Hummer crashed into the diner on Wednesday afternoon.

According to officials, two people were injured and were transported to local hospitals with life threatening injuries, Fox 5 reported.

Officials say it’s not clear whether or not those injured were in the vehicle or in the restaurant when the crash happened.

The diner has been evacuated, and the 8100 block of Fletcher Street and International Drive is block off, Fox 5 reported.

The North and Southbound lanes of International Drive are also closed, and officials are asking drivers to take an alternate route.

There’s no word yet on how the crash happened.
