While attempting to leave a peaceful protest in Seattle, Washington on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jesse Hagopian — a history teacher at a local high school — was on the phone with his mother, trying to get away from the chaos
As Hogopian was leaving the protest, he was hit in the face with a heavy stream of pepper-spray — yelling, “oh f*ck,” as he tried to get away.
“I felt the piercing pain shoot through my eye, my ear drum and my nostril, all over my cheek and face,” Hagopian told local KOMO.
“I yelled out. My mom was in distress as she heard me yell.”
Hagopian is now suing the city, due to excessive force demonstrated by the police officer.
