A skydive attempt took a terrible turn when two skydivers collided into each other mid-air over Pasco County, Fla., on Tuesday.

23-year-old Sebastian Leal attached a camera to his helmet and was able to capture the unbelievable moment. First, the footage shows him jumping out a plane, then smashing into his 40-year-old partner, swirling back down to earth.

According to ABC News, Leal was in critical condition and his partner was listed in serious but stable condition.

“I hit the power lines after my reserve parachute deployed, fracturing 4 vertebrae,” Leal told ABC News. “They are not broken, though, so I am hopeful that I will recover.”

Leal told ABC News he will leave the hospital on Thursday to head to Atlanta’s Shepard Center for rehabilitation. “Don’t know how long [I’ll be there], but probably five to 10 weeks,” Leal added.

He said it definitely won’t be his last jump and hopes to get back in the air soon.

The fact that the two men survived is pretty incredible. We wish them both a speedy recovery!
