Is Cher engaged to Alexander Edwards? The Queen of Pop seems to be toying with her fans after posting a photo of a diamond ring on Christmas Day. Now everyone’s wondering if there has been an official engagement.

Cher’s Boyfriend Alexander Edwards Seemed to Give Her a Massive Diamond Ring for Christmas
“THERE R NO WORDS, ALEXANDER, A.E” wrote the singer on Twitter. Her post featured a gorgeous, massive teardrop diamond ring with a diamond-encrusted shank. The ring was sitting in a black box with Alexander’s hand holding it in the bottom left corner. His thumbnail was painted with a black and green flame.
As expected, Cher’s adoring fans flocked to the comments to congratulate her.
“Did he propose?” “Congrats!” “Wows!” and wishes for her happiness followed.
But about 40 minutes later, Cher reposted the photo with an entirely different caption.
“I posted this cause his nails are so cool,” she wrote.
Cher & Alexander Edwards Have a 40-Year Age Difference That Has Sparked Ageist Criticism
It’s not clear if Cher is or isn’t engaged. She’s received a lot of flak for her relationship with music executive Alexander Edwards. It’s mostly an ageist criticism, as Cher is 76 and Alexander is 36. The 40-year age difference is too much for some people, but Cher has stoically hushed the haters.
“As we All Know …I WASNT BORN YESTERDAY, & What I Know For Sure…There Are No Guarantees,” Cher tweeted in November. “Anytime you make a Choice You Take a Chance. I’ve Always Taken Chances…It’s WHO I Am.”
She had just posted a photo of Alexander along with a heart emoji. Fans and critics promptly expressed thinly veiled “concern,” citing the possibility of the pop star being taken advantage of. Others flatly pointed out the 4-decade age difference with distaste.
But Cher would have none of that, either.
“LOVE DOESNT KNOW MATH, IT SEES. RINPOCHE TOLD ME ‘SOME PPL MEET, OTHERS ‘RECOGNIZE,’“ she tweeted.
The Have Both Expressed Love for Each Other
Cher and Alexander met at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year and immediately hit it off. The paparazzi went crazy when the couple was spotted a couple days later leaving Craig’s in West Hollywood. And the pap caught Alexander at Odell Beckham Jr.’s birthday party, asking “What’s up with you and Cher?”
To which the rapper responded, “Aw, love her, man,” and kept walking.
Cher isn’t one to hold back her thoughts on social media, either. She’s one of those rare celebrities who actually responds to questions and comments from fans. When someone wrote, “He better be treating you like the queen you are!”, Cher responded, “Like a [crown emoji].”
The pop icon added that her entire family had already met her beau.
When the public wouldn’t let up, Cher got a little feistier.
“I’m Not Defending us. Haters are Gonna Hate… Doesn’ Matter That we’re Happy & Not Bothering Anyone,” she wrote. Then she responded to a fan with, “I DONT GIVE A F*K WHAT ANYONE THINKS.”
Alexander Edwards, or AE, is famously Amber Rose’s ex-boyfriend. They have a son together named Slash. But their relationship dramatically came to a halt after Rose called AE out for cheating on him… with twelve women.
However, as Cher has pointed out, she’s no spring chicken and she’s not exactly new to the dating scene. Also, for as much as we may doubt AE’s ability to be loyal, he hasn’t given any reason for us to think he’s cheated on Cher. On the contrary, the photo of the diamond ring now makes us think Alexander Edwards and Cher could be engaged and considering their forever vows.

As for Cher’s dating history, the age gap thing isn’t new, either. This shouldn’t come as a surprise. Cher, like her mom up until her recent passing at age 96, has aged in slow-motion. She can easily pass for someone 30 years younger. So why does she need to be put in a box on the shelf?
Cher once dated the 13-years-younger Val Kilmer. Then there was 16-years-younger Tom Cruise. And Rob Camilletti, a baker, was Cher’s beau when she was 40. He’s 22 years younger than she is, making him 18 at the time.
While everyone is analyzing Cher’s age difference, it’s probably important to note that she’s not the only celebrity to date someone younger. Billy Ray Cyrus just got engaged to Fire Rose, who is 27 years younger than him and could be Miley’s sister.
Then there’s Madonna, who’s romantic age differences only get bigger as she gets older. She passed the 40-year-difference mark this year when she dated Andrew Darnell. And how could we forget Leonardo DiCaprio, who seems to only date women 25 years or younger. Obviously, as he gets older, his age gap will widen as well.
Comedian Dane Cook is engaged to a woman 27 years younger than him. Sylvester Stallone has been married to a woman who is 22 years younger than he is — for 25 years. And Donald and Melania Trump are 24 years apart.
Truly, once you get to a certain age, it seems like it shouldn’t matter all that much.

But whether or not Cher is engaged to Alexander Edwards is still a mystery at this point. Her second post of the ring photo is slightly confusing. Obviously, she didn’t post the photo because her boyfriend’s “nails are so cool.”
When someone commented, “I was wondering ‘Are those Cher’s nails?’” Cher vehemently responded, “no, No,& FKN NO.”
Is Cher having second thoughts? Did AE just give her a diamond ring to toy with his older girlfriend? Or maybe Cher thinks this is all quite funny?
There’s no way to know at this point. All she’s tweeted since the ring pics are a Merry Christmas message and “Just woke up” on Boxing Day.
Only time will tell.
