Danny DeVito is spilling all the secrets, and we are all here for it! The iconic actor has openly said that he once saved another iconic actor, Michael Douglas. This happened when they were filming the movie “Romancing the Stone” in 1984. Back in 2018, he had claimed in an interview that he had to “suck the poison” out of the actor’s hand after he was bitten by a snake.

“I always heard the best thing to do is suck the poison out, right away, so I did,” he told The Talk. “I grabbed his hand and I sucking [the poison out], I’m spitting all over the place, and I say, ‘Boy, it’s a good thing this didn’t bite you on the balls, man; you would be a dead man.’”

Liar Liar Pants on Fire?

Fast forward to now, the actor was interviewed by Vanity Fair. He was quizzed by his daughter Lucy, coming clean after he was being quizzed with a lie detector. Lucy asked her dad if he considered Michael Douglas to be a “good friend” to which DeVito replied he was. She then quickly asked, “Is it true that you once saved his life?” He once again said yes, but the lie detector test hilariously stated otherwise.

“I actually made that story up,” DeVito went on to admit. “Okay, so I was lying. Oh yeah, I tell that on the talk shows.

“But you know, there’s an old joke that I probably can’t tell here because that’s like, a guy gets bit in a certain other place by a snake,” he noted. And he’s with his friend, and he says, ‘You gotta suck the poison out.’ And the guy says, ‘No way, baby. You’re a dead man. I ain’t sucking the poison out of that.’”

Lucy went on to laugh, “I’ve never heard that one before.” Leave it to Danny DeVito to make up such a wild story.
