The Homeless Paradise developer, Diana Kim appeared at the Rare Under 40 awards Saturday night.

Kim was honored for her work helping the homeless community of Hawaii. She was inspired to help those in need after she photographed her father who had been living on the streets.

When she took to the stage, Kim wiped tears from her eyes and revealed that the video made her relive such a difficult time in her life. Kim thanked Rare for honoring her and encouraged the attendees to look at the homeless population a little differently and treat them with more compassion.

She also took time to thank her husband who was her date for the evening. She even joked that he thanked Rare for honoring her because she got all dolled up for the occasion.

“Where are my Birkenstocks?” she joked and looked down to her sparkly pumps.

Rare is honored to have Diana Kim as one of our Rare Under 40 honorees.
