After his kids wandered to the floor at the Republican National Convention and announced that he had clinched the nomination, Donald Trump addressed the crowd on hand and the nation at home from Trump Tower.

“I’m so proud to be your nominee,” he said, before adding that he’s looking forward to giving his thoughts Thursday “on how we build a brighter and more hopeful future.”

Trump reached 1,267 votes he needed to formally become the Republican nominee on Tuesday evening.

New York temporarily passed its delegate count so Trump’s children could make the announcement.

Trump pledged to “work hard” and “never let you down.”

Presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton was quick to respond to the news.
