As expected, Trump attacked President Joe Biden and his current political opponents saying that the United States was in “grave trouble.” He went on to speak about the country’s inflation and the United States’ drug problem saying that if he is re-elected he will attack inflation and then resolve immigration problems.

“We will again put America first,” he noted.

He went on to list his accomplishments while running as President also attacking Biden’s policies on immigration, the United States’ pull out of Afghanistan, and energy. The former president didn’t mention Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is also seeking to run in the Republican party.

The announcement comes after Trump is facing several criminal investigations, including a Department of Justice probe into several documents with classified markings discovered in several boxes and drawers at his home in Mar-A-Lago.

Not running by his side this time is his own daughter, Ivanka Trump, who was the senior White House adviser during his time as president. She stated that she was taking a break from politics, and didn’t attend his speech on Tuesday nights. She also revealed that she would not be participating in his presidential campaign. “I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics,” she said via statement.

“While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena,” she noted. “I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and I will always be proud of many of our Administration’s accomplishments.”
