Fourteen-year-old Jacob Remaley is accused of murdering his mother Dana Remaley, 46, and his brother Caleb, 8, after his father left for work early Wednesday morning.

According to CBS Pittsburgh, the teen shot his mother and brother in the head as they slept and then called 911 to say his dad had killed them.

“Why didn’t he kill me? I need help,” he said in a 911 call.

Remaley reportedly said that his dad planted the murder weapon is his bedroom. The accused left the house with the gun before police got there and spoke with a neighbor.

The neighbor tried to persuade him to drop the gun. The neighbor also said the teen talked of killing himself.

Remaley eventually ditched the gun a yard over from the neighbor’s house.

Police say that the teen admitted to killing his mother and brother and said he would have killed his father too, if he had been at the family’s home.

Trooper Stephen Limani said in a press conference that police don’t have an answer about a motive at this time:

The only real conclusion we could draw from some of our investigation was that he had a difference with his parents – when it came to maybe not getting along with them that well. His brother, it’s very difficult to actually have an answer for why. I really don’t specifically have an answer for why. It doesn’t seem like there was any type of [tumultuous] relationship between he and his brother. If anything, it was actually fairly good for people that are six years apart as siblings.

Remaley has been charged as adult with first-degree murder and is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
