We expect nothing else from Florida except its gators to be out in full force, but normally these toothy reptiles are busy carrying dead fish across golf courses rather than furnishing their homes.

It was just another day in Holiday, Florida, where a gator proved to be one stubborn customer.

Pasco County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the scene of the American Freight Furniture parking lot Wednesday to deal with a loitering gator.

Faced with a decision in how to transport the creature to safety, the deputies spoke with the manager of the store, and he allowed them to drag the gator through the store for a quick browse of merchandise, including the clearance section.

“They either had to drag it around the whole plaza, or to make sure the gator didn’t get hurt, the manager let them take it through the store,” employee Peter Soto told Fox13.

On the other side of the store was the gator’s unfurnished home: a pond.

The gator return was successful.

Though clearly a loyal and enthusiastic customer, we’re guessing the gator has been told that he’s no longer welcome at the furniture store, bargain deals be damned.
