GirlsDoPorn founder Michael James Pratt has been arrested 3 years after a federal warrant for her arrest was issued. Pratt was found in Madrid, Spain, after being placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitive List.
GirlsDoPorn Lured Victims via Promises of Clothed Modeling Gigs
According to an FBI fugitive poster, Michael Pratt and a co-conspirator owned and operated GirlsDoPorn and GirlsDoToys. Pratt and others coerced young and underage women in the US and Canada into performing for pornographic productions. They used the internet to advertise clothed modeling jobs but with the intention of producing porn. Women were then forced, defrauded, and coerced into partaking in pornographic activities, with their images distributed across the internet.
Women were also told that the images would only be distributed to privately paying customers. Federal prosecutors allege that some victims were sexually assaulted. Further, some were denied return tickets home if they refused to participate in or complete sex scenes.
The FBI has charged Pratt with a 19-count indictment including the charges of sex trafficking, sex trafficking of a minor, production of child pornography, and conspiracy to launder monetary instruments. GirlsDoPorn was estimated to bring in about $17 million in profits between 2012 and 2019.
4 of Michael Pratt’s Co-Conspirators Already Pleaded Guilty
What’s more, four other employees of GirlsDoPorn, including a videographer and a producer, have already been arrested and pleaded guilty to related felonies.
Pratt was arrested by the Spanish National Police after an Interpol Red Notice was issued. He’s currently being held in Spain and awaiting extradition to San Diego.
“The capture of Michael Pratt is an example of how the FBI will pursue justice beyond U.S. borders—you can run but you can’t hide,” said Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Stacey Moy of the FBI San Diego Field Office in a press statement. “Thank you to our determined FBI San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force and to our federal and international partners for their commitment to making sure that Michael Pratt is brought to justice.”
Michael Pratt is originally from New Zealand and was also known to use an alias of “Mark.” His arrest warrant was issued by the Southern District of California, on November 6, 2019.
