Candace Cameron Bure left the Hallmark Channel for GAC Family back in April, and Hallmark has finally acknowledged it.

More specifically, Hallmark executive Lisa Hamilton Daly spoke on all the roster changes during a Television Critics Association press conference, as Cameron Bure isn’t the only defection.

“We’ve kept a lot of our talent under options, save for Christmas movies. We’re looking for new talent all the time,” she said, via Variety. “I think there’s a lot of talent out there that we’ve worked with in the past that GAC is now working with.

“I think that we also are constantly trying to evolve the talent pool that we’re working with. We have, I think, retained almost everybody that we’re really excited to have. So that’s where we are.”

Cameron Bure, 46, first came to fame as D.J. Tanner on Full House. But she has also acted in more than two dozen Hallmark films, including the 18-film Aurora Teagarden series for Hallmark Movies and Mysteries.

She will now be staring in romantic comedies and holiday flicks and shows over at GAC Family, which is headed by former Hallmark Channel executive Bill Abbott. Cameron Bure will also help develop and produce some of the movies and series at GAC Family and sister station GAC Living.

Hallmark marches forward

That said, Hallmark Channel will also carry on, minus Cameron Bure, as it always has.

“Our talent, they know each other. They have a great relationship and that’s the secret sauce we have as Hallmark,” CEO Wonya Lucas said at the press conference. “That continues today. We have existing talent that’s been with us a long time, and we have a new talent that we’re bringing in as well. And they all feel part of this Hallmark Channel love and so that that will be consistent; that is consistent in the past; that’s consistent today.”

  1. Don’t show those Aurora Tea Garden reruns. When they first started making those movies her acting was terrible. It took her years to get it right. I miss Garage Sale Mysteries. Now that was a good show.

  2. Cameron’s movies were some of the best, she will be missed . I do think there is a lot of talent out there especially from soap
Operas.Looking forward to seeing new talent & new story lines. Miss Garage sale mysteries & live Flower shop stories

  3. I stopped watching when they started promoting all the gay movies. This is supposed to be a family channel but it isn’t family centered anymore.

  4. I know Candace had a problem with Hallmark taking on social changes and I don’t blame her. I wish Hallmark would just stick to the format they have always had. Seeing two men kissing just isn’t for most people who love movies like those shown previously on Hallmark.

    • I loved aureo teagarden. I wonder what Hallmark is going to do now with their murder mystery station? It’s all reruns and they need new shows. Even the crossword show star left

    • Me too! I’m not supporting anything Hod says is wrong. Hallmark has changed drastically I’ve the past few years. No real meaning or depth to their movies. Only the same old romance story over and over again with different people and locations. I stopped watching the second they had their first clay commercial on. Why should they or anyone else push it in a movie or commercial? It’s terrible.

  5. Too sad to hear that Candace is leaving, she was and still is the QUEEN OF HALLMARK MOVIES I will always miss her and i went ahead and bought all her hallmark movies on Amazon. I will always miss her adorable face and her transparency as well as her first class actin. A natural all the way I wish her all the luck in the world and may her life be paved with health, wealth and happiness always.

  6. I’ve already switched to GAC. Love the movies, they remind me of the Hallmark ones when things were family oriented at Hallmark. I’m thankful for the great actors that made the switch.

  7. I’m saddened about Candace Leaving Hallmark, why can’t Hallmark just stick to what they were showing????? It was doing fine …. Changes like this can come back to bite you in the butt, but some people are just too slow and stupid when they’re screwing things up, Hallmark is supposed to be family oriented….. I’ll have to check out the other network.

  8. I agreed with the others, I don’t have anything against Gays, but I do not want and won’t watch 2 guys kissing or two girls kissing. WhT happened to watching movies with family members?

  9. I’m not watching Hallmark anymore . It used to be a family network, but not anymore. Proud of Candace for staying true to her beliefs!

  10. Im proud of Candace as well. But i miss Garage Sale Mysteries. Wished they would bring it back.
But i will be switching to GAC as well. I dont have anything against anyones sexual orientation but i dont believe it should be written into everything. Im already tired of everything i turn on has men with men and women with women just to prove a point. Its for the wrong reasons.

  11. I’m glad Hallmark has become progressive and inclusive. It represents the real world. Life is not about all white families living happily ever after. I am Asian. I have friends who are gay. Can you imagine me protesting the network because they only used Caucasians?

Thank you, Hallmark. I will continue supporting you.

  12. I like Henry Wrinkler. He was great in a Christmas movie a few years ago. I too do not watch Lifetime due to gay people. If they are that is up to them but I don’t want it thrown in my face.

  13. I have just about stoped watching Hallmark because they have changed so much . I could watch and not worry about what was seen now you never know what will be on. All I can say is like anything else on I have the option of changing the channel. And I do !! Thanks Hallmark for taking away the clean TV .

  14. First she’s not the Queen, I’d rather watch Lacey Chabert. I’m not a fan of the changes, it would have been nice for Hallmark to stick to there programming morales. I’ll still watch hallmark and will watch GAC.
