WASHINGTON — The day after President Trump took office, thousands of men, women and children are gathering from across the country (some even from out of the country) to partake in the Women’s March on Washington, a demonstration in our nation’s capital that aims to “send a bold message to our new government on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights.”
People plan to dedicate their march to everything from women’s rights to LGBTQ+ rights to universal health care to the protection of our immigrants and people of color. Rare caught up with a few marchers during the pre-march rally held just around the corner from our Capitol building to ask them why they’ve traveled all this way.
