He’s driven a bus for 18 years, but one quick decision may have been the most important of all

The incident happened Thursday morning while Tim Homann drove his typical bus route in Madison, Wisc.

Homann said that he didn’t think twice about stopping his bus and getting the baby off of the road, fearing that other drivers might not see her.

“I got closer and closer, and it appeared to be a little baby out there,” he told WISC-TV. “‘I’m going to get that baby.’ That’s pretty much what I told myself and I looked up ahead there for cars.”

Homann says he asked the girl if he could pick her up and she stretched out her arms and said “momma.”

The bus driver’s next task was to find the girl’s parents. A few minutes later, the baby’s dad, who was asleep, rushed outside. Homann described him as “happy, very happy.”

Homann said that he apologized to his passengers for any delay but that nobody said anything.

At the end of the day, this driver was just happy he was in the right place at the right time.
