PITTSBURGH — A Fox Chapel man is protesting presidential candidate Donald Trump’s visit to Pittsburgh in a unique way, TribLIVE reports.

Homemade signs at Eric Rickin’s Fox Chapel home read “Trump Likes Hunt’s Ketchup,” and “Trump Hates Pierogies.”

A photo of the signs posted to Food Studies at Chatham University’s Facebook page went viral this week.

Professor Alice Julier, who posted the photo, told Channel 11’s news exchange partners at TribLIVE, “Mixing local food loyalty with questioning whether a politician would support it is a cool way of bringing people together.”

While Trump will be in Pittsburgh Wednesday, Rickin also has a Facebook page promoting a “Trump Absurd Sign Rally” in Market Square Saturday, which urges people to bring their own “family-friendly” signs. The description says, “This is political theater to fight absurdity with absurdity.”
