In a remarkable twist of events, a man’s cat aided officers in saving his life

Sometimes, we can’t save ourselves from ourselves. Sometimes, friends, family or authorities can’t either. Sometimes, all it takes is a furry animal.

San Francisco police are thankful to this cat for saving the life of a man who authorities suspect to be a car thief. In a standoff that lasted for several hours, the man was threatening to jump from a third-story window and take his life.

After three hours, reinforcement arrived: his orange-and-white pet cat. Using the cat, negotiators were able to talk the man down.
