But none, he said, have been as physically tough as the role he played in John Wick: Chapter 4.

John Wick: Chapter 4 was the hardest physical role I’ve ever had in my career so far,” Reeves, 58, told Total Film. “They really trained me up to be able to have what we call the toolbox.”

This is the fourth time Reeves has starred in the franchise, and this particular installment is due for release on March 24. He promised the neo-noir action thriller will not disappoint.

“We took the car-driving to the next level, which I really enjoy,” Reeves said. “There’s 180s, forward-into-reverse 180s, reverse into-forward 270s, drifting. … So it was really fun to get a chance to learn those skills, and to play.”

Reeves trained hard for the role, utilizing exercise and diet and extra sleep, per reports. Flexibility and strength were the focus, with some stamina mixed in there as well. Generally, celebrities train for about 12 weeks to get ready for a demanding physical role.

Along with everything else, Reeves surprised the crew with some gifts, added People. Or more specifically, Reeves gave each an individually personalized Rolex Submariner watch.
