Lance Reddick’s Wife Breaks Silence Following His Death: ‘Taken From Us Far Too Soon’

Stephanie Reddick, wife of the late Lance Reddick, has spoken out for the first time since his sudden passing. On Saturday, she shared several sweet photos of Reddick on his verified Instagram account, including one of him in character as Commander Zavala. In the caption, Stephanie expressed gratitude for the “overwhelming” love and support she has received after announcing his death.

“Lance was taken from us far too soon. Thank you for all your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day,” she stated. “I see your messages and can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have them. And to the thousands of Destiny players who played in a special tribute to Lance, thank you. Lance loved you as much as he loved the game.”

Stephanie also shared information on how people can make donations to Mom Cares, an organization that is based in Reddick’s hometown of Baltimore. The organization helps under-supported mothers who have had NICU experiences by offering prenatal and postpartum care, transportation, advocacy, self-care opportunities, and nutritious meals for mothers and their families.

‘Taken From Us Far Too Soon’

Reddick, who was known for his roles in The Wire and the John Wick film series, passed away on Friday at the age of 60. “Acclaimed actor Lance Reddick passed away suddenly this morning from natural causes,” his representative confirmed to Entertainment Tonight on Friday. “He is survived by his wife Stephanie Reddick and children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick. Donations in his memory can be made to momcares.org in Baltimore, his hometown. Lance will be greatly missed. Please respect his family’s privacy at this time.”

After the news of his unexpected passing, Hollywood reacted to the tragedy with many sharing their condolences and memories. Among those paying tribute were John Wick star Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski, who released a joint statement honoring the late actor.

“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick,” the pair stated. “He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with. Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family and friends. We dedicate the film to his loving memory. We will miss him dearly.”
