The two reportedly met while at her daughter’s school function about three years ago and were married in 2021. She reportedly filed for divorce in September, so it didn’t last very long.
Scott and Bezos were divorced in 2019 after 25 years of marriage, their divorce was finalized later that year in July. As part of their divorce settlement, Scott received a 4% stake in Amazon. They have four children.
Scott is a novelist and philanthropist and is considered the fifth-wealthiest woman in the United States worth around $26 billion. She has given at least $14 billion to 16,000 charities after committing to give more than half of her salary to various causes, per her website, Yieldgiving. She gave her $55 million estate to support the nonprofit California Community Foundation as well as $436 million to Habitat for Humanity back in March. She also went on to donate $2.7 billion to 286 underfunded organizations that fought against wealth inequality, and back in 2020, gave away $4.2 billion to organizations in the US that helped with relief during the COVID-19 pandemic.
