We don’t really need phone booths anymore, and probably haven’t since cell phones came on the scene. At the very least, we haven’t really used them since the invention of the iPhone back in 2006.

So the question becomes, what to do with all those old phone booths?
Fear not, it appears that Russia has answered the call — in the form of using booths to stage fights.
Yes, Russia is breaking out a new form of Mixed Martial Arts. Or perhaps it’s just boxing. Whatever you want to call it, it’s taking place inside a phone booth, seemingly at the center of a ring.

Who came up with this idea, we’ll never know. But you can’t help but think it will soon make its way to the United States. It adds a whole new wrinkle to the sport of slugging it out.
Clearly, though, if anyone hopes to monetize this (still underground) fad, they’d better hurry. As you can plainly see in the phone booth fights, space is limited.

In all seriousness, this seems so intense. Dangerous, even, especially since the men are so close to each other. Like…once you’re down, you’re down! Nowhere to go, your opponent can even stomp you for all you know. Just look at the audience members too, they are so scared. Probably wondering if the dudes will get out of there alive.
Russia needs to calm down and learn how to talk things out. They are really showcasing their reputation here if you ask me. Still, if I ever go to Russia you know I’m attending one of these. Because well, it just looks insane, you can’t tell me you’re not curious too. Two men fighting inside a phone booth? Meh, what could go wrong, right?
