Mike Rowe made his name hosting “Dirty Jobs” on the Discovery Channel. In the past few months, he’s been one of the few celebrities to come out as a staunch Republican.
Though his candidate won, Rowe seems like the type of guy who would have been just fine if the election had swung the other way.

In a recent Facebook post, he told a story about two brothers fighting over the election results. The story turned out to be about Abraham Lincoln assassin John Wilkes Booth and his older brother Edwin, a famous actor. While it might be a stretch to compare Lincoln to Donald Trump, Rowe’s point — that embitterment doesn’t become us — holds true.

Rowe has been constantly attacked for his right-leaning views — in one instance, he was criticized for speaking at a gun show in Las Vegas. He responded by saying that actually, he was going to visit friends at the SEAL Foundation.
He finished his statement by saying, “You and I have a difference of opinion regarding the role of the second amendment in modern society. But thanks to the first amendment, we can express our differences in whatever way we prefer.”
