Spencer Stone, one of three Americans and two servicemen who helped thwart a terrorist attack on a French train this summer was stabbed near a bar in Sacramento, California on Wednesday evening, this according to CNN.
According to BBC, Stone is in stable condition after having life saving surgery. He was stabbed multiple times. After the attack, Stone resided on a military base in California.
In a statement to the Air Force Times, an Air Force spokesman confirmed Stone’s injury.
“A1C Spencer Stone has been transported to a local hospital, and is currently being treated for injury,” Air Force spokesman Lt. Col. Christopher Karns said.
“The incident is currently under investigation by local law enforcement. He is currently in stable condition.”
