Simon Helberg Has Three Hilarious ‘Howard’ Spin-Off Suggestions

Again, this is not happening.

Fans of Big Bang Theory couldn’t get enough of any of the characters, and yes, that included Howard Wolowoitz. The standout who began the sitcom as an insecure single scientist became a fan fave; he even concluded as a fairly more secure husband and father.

And now, the man who portrayed Wolowitz, Simon Helberg, is bringing a bit of news. Well, at least some that some might find a little disappointing: namely, there won’t be a Howard spinoff.

In fact, he was never even approached.

“No, which is good,” he told Newsweek. “I’m happy everyone had the wits about them not to try to make more of me on television. Young HowardOld HowardDead Howard, You know, Undead, whatever… Undead Howard, could have been a good one.”

Of course, some fans would’ve liked to have seen A Howard spinoff … or a Leonard spinoff … or a Penny spinoff .. or a Raj spinoff … or even an Amy or a Bernadette spinoff. They did get a Sheldon spinoff in the form of the currently airing Young Sheldon, and maybe that would be a natural for Wolowitz.

But again, it’s not happening.

Okay, so what is he up to now?

Still, fear not. Helberg is currently co-starring with Dianna Agron, Dustin Hoffman and Candice Bergen in the family drama movie As They Made Us — written and directed by none other than Mayim Bialik, who played Amy, Sheldon’s love interest (as much as Sheldon could indeed love another).

As for Big Bang fans, well, you’ll just have to appreciate Wolowitz on the 12 seasons of the show that can be streamed just about anywhere.
