On Saturday morning, President Donald Trump made some shocking claims on his Twitter account. He claimed that the phones at Trump Tower had been tapped by former President Obama. The claims, while surprising, weren’t backed up by any evidence. Trump didn’t provide a news story, a source or anything else that would make his claims credible.
He called the alleged wiretapping a “new low” and that it was “McCarthyism.”
