The Internet is Convinced Time Travel is Real After ‘Cell Phone’ Was Spotted in WWII Picture

No one said you have to be smart to look at Facebook. But you have to wonder what kind of crowd it is drawing these days, given how some users swear that a man in a World War II picture appears to be holding a cell phone.

It’s led to the theory that time travel may actually be a thing.

And aside from someone knowing the basics of photoshop, hey, maybe a case could be made.

After all, the man is very clearly talking into what appears to be a cell phone. And the scene very clearly is set in the 1940s.

So, How Did The Phone Get There?

“One thing that draws attention to this beautiful picture is that above the window, in the corner in the middle of the picture, a man is leaning and is on a cellphone,” user Kristjan Hoffmann wrote on the page from the Facebook group Gamlar ljósmyndir.

Eventually, others noticed as well — and not just Facebook. The picture has become news on other social media platforms, with no one seemingly able to offer a real explanation.

Of course, if time travel was real, there’s no way it would be kept a secret in today’s day and age. Word undoubtedly would be out by now.

Some have theorized that the man is merely holding a pipe and scratching his ear. Others have said he was checking his watch.

And some suggest that the face and hand were photoshopped in, perhaps even by the user who brought attention to it.

Whatever your theory, it’s fun to dream about time travel. Why anyone would want to travel to the World War II era, however, would be the real mystery.
