Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas) announced his resignation from the House Freedom Caucus following differences on the American Health Care Act, the Republican-backed health care bill.

The bill had been scrutinized by the Republican representatives in the House Freedom Caucus, as well as Republican senators and several prominent conservative groups. President Trump and other members of his administration met with the caucus to strike a compromise. But nearly an hour before the scheduled vote on Friday, House Speaker Paul Ryan pulled the bill.

Lisa “Kennedy” Montgomery of Fox News’s “Kennedy” noted that the opposition to the bill came from moderate and conservative Republicans. But Meghan McCain, daughter of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), said that she was “salty” and painted the entire incident as “deeply embarrassing.”

She said that the only topic discussed over the weekend was health care, even complaining that it had found its way into a party she attended.

McCain agreed that the bill was bad and said she was “mad at Paul Ryan.” She went on to blame the quick pace at which Republicans had tried to push the bill and implicated the House Freedom Caucus for not compromising enough.

She criticized Washington, D.C., for not coming up with a replacement plan.
